As the director of content and audience growth at Inside the Magic, Abigail runs the entertainment, travel, and biggest Disney news site in the world. She's the founder of Sticks & Stones, a newsletter about the outdoors and the state of the world. Abigail co-founded Adventures in Wikipedia, a series of editathons, in an effort to get more women of the outdoor industry onto Wikipedia, where female editors and entries are vastly underrepresented. She often speaks at events like SXSW, the CORE conference, and the New York Travel Festival.
Previously, Abigail was the digital managing director for Outside Inc., where she oversaw Outside Online, Backpacker, Climbing, and SKI. Before that, she was a senior editor at REI's Adventure Projects, the engagement editor at Outside magazine, an associate editor at Real Simple, and a part of the Healthy Living team at The Huffington Post. She started her career interning at Time Out Magazine and AOL, and has freelanced for Runner’s World, Condé Nast Traveler, and Romper. Publications such as Travel + Leisure, Reader's Digest, Time, and PopSci have also featured her work. She once wrote a biography about a farmer-turned-CEO and hopes to write more books in the future. Abigail holds a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
Today, Abigail lives on an organic greens and veggies farm with her husband, stepdaughter, son, and four very good dogs—plus, four goats and a lot of chickens.
